With the increasing legalization of recreational and medical marijuana use in many parts of the world, an entire new category of events/festivals is on the rise. Cannabis festivals are fast becoming the embodiment of the flourishing cannabis business. As the name suggests, cannabis festivals are centered on marijuana. Different groups of people from different sectors meet at these festivals where they get to discuss one or more aspects of the cannabis industry. Cannabis festivals can either be regional, national or international. Cannabis festivals, rallies and parties have been happening since the 70’s. Earlier it used to be a way to celebrate, educate, and protest cannabis laws around the world. But now with cannabis becoming legal, now a days there are numerous festivals that happen globally. And with the plethora of festivals happening every now and then, and those events being shared massively through social media posts, if you are a cannabis enthusiasts you wouldn’t want to miss out on the fun.   1. Hash Bash

Hash Bash is a festival held annually in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It was first held in 1972. It was kind of a response to the famous Michigan Supreme Court ruling that saw marijuana activist, John Sinclair being sent to prison on a ten year sentence for giving two marijuana blunts to an undercover cop. Hash Bash now has a lot to celebrate- medical marijuana victories, reduced police involvement, and support from famous activists, musicians, writers, and bunch of other celebrities as well. 2021 will mark the 50th year of this festival. And for the past five years there have also been a growers’ competition titled the Hash Bash Cup.

  • 4.20 Hemp Fest

4.20 Hemp Fest happens in East End Studios in Milan, Italy. The fest offers three days of 420 friendly cannabis events with over fifteen countries and two hundred exhibitors in a space as big as 10,000 square feet. The festival also holds an event- Cannabis Light Cup, a competition for growers and producers from around the world.

This event is based in Denver, Colorado, USA. Denver was the first state to legalize marijuana in 2014 and is still home to adult-use cannabis. Whatever be the weather condition, the Mile High 4/20 Festival goes on. The event happens at Civil Center Park, and reaches its high at 4:20 pm. This festival had begun as a protest to end prohibition, where hundreds gathered for an illegal smokeout, and now has evolved into a massive concert which has seen artists like Lil Wayne, Lil’ Jon performing.
