THE DOPEST CANNABIS EVENTS

Cannabis rallies, festivals and parties have been around since the 70’s. Back then these were ways to celebrate, educate, and protest the strict weed laws around the world. But now with the upward graph of marijuana legalization in many parts of the world, you have more amazing cannabis-friendly events to attend. Event marketers of cannabis events are now not very much bothered about regional restrictions, and are awaiting a brave new world that is more tolerant towards marijuana as a recreational drug or for medical treatment.

Cannabis events used to typically happen on or around April 20th (which is called as 420). Cannabis friendly events provide one day of freedom and fun with people who share similar approach towards marijuana. While marijuana advocates would love to have something to look forward to, it has been deemed that one day just isn’t enough. There are numerous ‘dope’ cannabis events that you can join.

The Dope Cup

This is a hardcore stoners’ event. This event happens at places like California, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington. It includes cannabis competition, vendors and music performances. The environment there always feels like a smoke-cloud-and-music-filled party.

Oregon Hemp Convention

This event is actually a cannabis trade conference. It also has product auctions, vendors, and provides educational, networking, business-to-business ideas and to connect decision makers within the industry. The product auction makes this event a unique one.

Hempfest

Hempfest is the self- proclaimed Undisputed King of Protestivals. What makes it one of the dopest events is that it always had a feel of protest. It has been historically focused on free speech and cannabis consumption even long before marijuana legalization around the world. Hempfest events sometimes ended in citations and arrests in the late 90’s. It has now evolved into a massive concert and festival with five stages that overlooks the Emerald City’s waterfront. This event happens in Seattle, USA during late summer and is believed to be the largest gathering on cannabis and hemp reform in the US, with about 100000 participants each year.

Mile High 4/20 Festival

Mile High 4/20 festival happens in Denver, Colorado, and goes on even if there is snow, rain, or shine. Denver is still the unofficial home of adult-use cannabis since getting legalization in 2014. “4/20” is a play at 4:20 PM, which is when the “ball drops” at Civic Center Park. This event initially started as a protest to end prohibition (on cannabis use) where huge number of people gathered for an illegal smokeout. It has now become a massive concert, which has seen musical performances from hip-hop greats like Lil Wayne and Lil’ Jon, and has consumers and cannabis lovers irrespective of age, nationality, and creed.

Boston Freedom Rally

Boston Freedom Rally has been happening since 1989, where the city gets taken over for one day in September. The freedom rally is one of the largest cannabis reform rallies in the United States. The event advocates for marijuana consumption, and also includes musical performances and vendors.
